Scallop Blossoms Cards

Oh! how I wish this was the scene outside my window instead of a snow storm. This is the beautiful inspiration photo at For Your Inspiration Challenge # 40. My inspiration was the color.  I love brown and pink color combination. The various colors of pinks are simply gorgeous and the scene is so clean. I started making a one layer card but the sentiment went on crooked. Which took me into another direction~ ENJOY!
I made a collage scene with various pink and browns inks. Matted white on white for a clean look. I was so excited to use Hero Arts Scallop Blossoms I bought last year and never used it. I added a scripted stamp from the Tim Holtz Urban Grunge Collection.

I was so excited to participated again in One Layer Wednesday's. I made a One Layer Birthday card using Hero Arts Scallop Blossoms, Stampendous Music Score, Art Impression sentiment,Urban Grunge Script and Memento Ink.

Let Your Light Shine

Craft A Scene :Let your Light Shine

The challenge this month was to use a lighthouse as your main focus and to share how I am shining my light this month with my project..
My light comes from my faith of having accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.
1 John 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleansed us from all sin.

Both of these cards were painted with distress ink in the form of a watercolor technique using a fine brush. The purple card has 2 stamps from Stampscapes- Lighthouse E and Cabin A.  Everything else was drawn and painted in. This card symbolizes a Beacon of Light in the Darkest Hours

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Shabby Chic Flower Brooches

These flower brooches were made from french material, tulle and felt. They are 2 scalloped circles of material ( plus 2 tulle and felt) cut from a cuttle bug and spellbinders. 8- 3" squares folded and stitched. Bling was glued and/or stitched to the center ( button & earring). After assembling them together a  safety pin was sewn to the back.
Inspiration #39
 Inspiration photo at FYI Challenge

The twisted  glass structured and the refraction of light was my  inspiration. The curved fabric was to mimic the structure. A  square earring mimicked the pattern of the windows and the refraction of light. The material frayed giving it a shabby chic look~Enjoy!

Just a Thought

                                                            "Stop and smell the roses".
A simple command to pause life and enjoy the moment. Moments are fleeting like the breath you took while reading this sentence. We all get caught up in the snare of our scheduled lives. Sometimes we need reminders to pause and focus on beauty that surrounds us. When we focus closely; we realize how much God is in the details of life. Just like this wild rose blooming in the woods. Zoom in on your day and see how much of the details can be given to God ~ENJOY!

Psalms 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
