Wedding Dress

This dress is for CASology: White Challenge. I love to make dress cards. I have had tons of email how do I do it. Well it is very simple...There is no right or wrong way to make it. I use to make paper dresses for my paper dolls when I was little. I take a sheet a paper fold it in half and cut out a design and open it up. I then take the opened dress design and place on the front of the card. The top of the dress is placed on the fold. I trace it out and cut so I have a 2 dresses adhered at the top by the fold. . You can use anything from a stencil to die cut machine. It is all on what you have and keep it fun~ cut paper. Then the fun is all in the embellishment.

This dress is kept very simple in design. I glued tulle and wrapped a ribbon around the waist. For the special sparkle to represent the beautiful bead work on wedding dresses, I added stickles under the dress and on the bodice.
Just have fun and be creative. Have great weekend~ENJOY!

Autumn Pumpkins

Autumn is the subject for the One layer Wednesday challenge this week and Less is More is to incorporate an oval into the design. I know I can combine the two.  Oh my brain is still in sleep mode.....I'll have to dig deeper in there and definitely add caffeine to the process.

Okay!  Coffee is in hand and I am already.............still ready...........nothing!

Well I have to gather some more info to ignite this brain today. Let's try the dictionary :

Autumn:
 1. The season of the year between summer and winter, lasting from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice and from September to December in the Northern Hemisphere; fall.
2. A period of maturity verging on decline.

Wow!!! way to deep for me this morning except.... I am relating to #2 the more I sit here at my desk and stare out the window....1/2 hour later....Oh....I am getting something pumpkins maybe?...or maybe I am just hungry and pumpkin bread sounds good with my coffee...oh I can't think anymore. Must rest brain too much strain.

Two days have passed and I still have pumpkins on the mind. I just can't combined them into one card though not enough time and brain power  for that...Thank you logic!

So I made my favorite 3d oval pumpkin card and a One Layer Card.
I just love to make this pumpkin card ~LOVE IT!

Here is the recipe:
The trick is oval spellbinders #4 and #5 if the largest Oval in the set is counted as #1 and so on.
It is 3 (#4) ovals and 3 (#5) oval overlapped. I add some distress walnut brown around the edges of each. I add  reddish-orange Prisma watercolor pencils to small pumpkin for depth from the lg pumpkin. Then I ground it with green and stamped Hero Arts wavy season sentiment in Timber Brown Staz On. Cut stem from scraps.

I borrowed the Pumpkin and Autumn stamps from 1-800-mom-stash. She had tons of autumn stamps. I used prismacolor pencils and h20 for it to blend. I have no idea what this whole set is from thinking maybe Inkadinkado?

Thank you for stopping by and visiting~ENJOY!

... you drive me batty...

Here is the simple card I made quickly. I am sorry I didn't realize all the bat cards already but the full moon with the bats is what came to mind. So I made this for hubby.

This card is sponged with Distress Scattered Straw with spellbinder as a stencil. I didn't have a bat so I sketched one and cut it out. I then pop dot them on the moon. The scene was adhered to a black card. I wrote out the sentiment inside and out. This will go into his lunch pal on Monday. Are you wondering why the card is opening on the wrong side. It is not because I adhered it wrong.....He is left handed~ENJOY!

This card is for CASology for there clue card SKY

Falling Leaves

                                                                                                       Good Morning

These cards are much cleaner and simpler than the ones I posted yesterday. These are one layer cards with an old stamp I have had for years. Forgive me for not knowing the company. I colored the leaves with distress markers after I stamped in Staz On Timber Brown first.  I added some score lines. I made these for both genders.

TIP:
I add  score lines the width of the ribbon. This holds the ribbon in place. I discovered this trick some time ago because my ribbon would be crooked and move a lot of times. This keeps the ribbon straight and in place~ENJOY!

Gratitude

It is with much gratitude that I am excited to share my post today.  I love the veins in the leaves when the color changes in the fall. So that was my inspiration. I used the spellbinders as stencils and distress ink inside and then I embossed the card with just the veins of the leaves with an embossing tool and stamped Gratitude(?).  Susan is hosting the OLW and has started a Gratitude Campaign for 2012.  What is it you may ask? It is to save Thanksgiving from being downsized and overshadowed by the commercialism of other seasons and activities  So we are spreading some gratitude around early.  I will be posting some family traditions we have that  may be a bit different then some. Start thinking of those around you that you are grateful for and send some gratitude today with a peaceful and grateful heart. Let this be a season of blessings and thanksgiving~ENJOY!

First Day of School

    GOOD-MORNING

I was so sentimental this morning I made this card in honor of  my kids first day of school.  I still can see them with their backpacks holding hands as we walked  to the bus stop.
I have a boy stamp too but couldn't find it this morning. Have a feeling Buddy is laying on it under the table. But I am not going to search for it right now. He looks too tired from getting everyone out the door this morning.
RECIPE:
I just love G Studio's scalloped card sets. I stamped this in Timber Brown Staz on
The portrait stamp with girl is from SU (forever young)
The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.
The color inside portrait is Distress Ink Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick.
The bow was colored with the worn lipstick ink.
The pink Gems were added for some sparkle and so was diamond stickles around frame~ENJOY!

Birch Trees

I had some of these done but haven't had a chance to post them lately. When we were on vacation we went to a museum and they had a sculpture that was the inspiration for the tree shapes. I love Autumn because of the beautiful colors and the harvest that it brings so it was a delight to use the sketches from our trip to create these cards.

The card on the left is a one layer card of birch trees with the color behind representing the fall colors. This was Scored, Sketched, Stenciled, Sponged and Stampscape's Sentiment.
The Card on the right is a sketched and water colored birch scene. When dried it was stamped with pines and geese from Stampscapes. The trees were inspired by a sculpture at the museum. That is why they are so childlike in manner. The color behind can be interrupted as the fall colors in the forest or the sky~ENJOY!
